Fusion’s powerful 3D environment can help you perform 3D tasks inside DaVinci Resolve or Fusion standalone. In this Tutorial you will see two options to take a 2D logo, image, or graphic and add some 3D depth to it. The default tool to extrude plane objects into 3D is Fusion’s displace3D tool. While this does work, the requirements for a smooth mesh may make this approach difficult. As a second option, you can layer planes on top of each other to give a 3D appearance. This turns out to be the more successful approach in this tutorial.
After creating the 3D scene, you can use 2D post-processing tools to finish the scene. In the example, we use ambient occlusion to get great shadows and depth blur.
