Edit and Fusion Effects Combined – Beginner Tutorial in Resolve 17

Edit and Fusion Effects Combined – Beginner Tutorial in Resolve 17

Layers and nodes are not contradictions. Simple effect layers in the DaVinci Resolve Edit page can help both editors and VFX artists to build effects quickly. Build your first prototype in minutes, get the concept and timing right, then you can finetune and customize in Fusion.

The enhanced integration in DaVinci Resolve 17 gives even more options to jump back and forth and to combine the best of Fusion and Edit in your workflow.

This beginner-friendly tutorial gives a roundtrip through different Fusion concepts and ideas on how to combine them. Starting from the edit page we build a surveillance camera effect step by step.

We use different options to layer Fusion effects, encapsulate effects in Fusion clips, and use the Fusion Text+ tool from the edit page. Topics include:

  • Combining Edit and Fusion Effects
  • Lumakeyer
  • Fusion Shape Tools
  • Fusion Titles

    Hello Bernd,

congratulation to your professional courses and tutorials.
The very best I found since a long time!

Having started as a producer of videos and 2D and 3D animations since 1990, I now began learning Davinci just only for my private pleasure.

Your work and offers support this in an ideal way.

    Regards
    Thomas
