For the very best keying results, you need to pay a lot of attention to the specifics of your shot. Each shot is different, each foreground and each background are different. To handle the most challenging shots, you need to break up the keying process into small steps. Take one issue at a time and follow a methodical process.
In this tutorial we expand on the Delta Keyer workflow that I covered before. But this time, I want to consider almost every possible step along the line towards an advanced keying and compositing process.
Do you always do everything? No! Some productions will not give you the time to work on every detail and if you are really lucky you get shots that are so simple or so well shot (wishful thinking…) that some steps can be skipped.
To create a similar flow for your own keying problems, you will need a good overall command over Fusion. You might also want to review the Matte Control tool before diving into this tutorial.
