DaVinci Resolve 19 is out in public Beta and includes several significant new features and improvements for Fusion users. These updates make Fusion more powerful and help with professional VFX workflows in a range of tasks.
New features include color-managed Fusion Viewers, referenced fusion compositions, Text+ Tool updates, Volumetric data and custom Shaders within Universal Scene Description (USD), an AI-based point tracker, shape tools enhancements, and more.
In addition to the major updates in Fusion itself, there are VFX-related updates from the Color page that can be beneficial.
The new DaVinci Resolve render OFX plugin allows you to render stills from the Color page within other OFX hosts. That allows VFX artists to preview their work under a (preliminary) grade within other applications.
Ultra Noise Reduction gives us an improvement for spatial noise reduction, that is also accessible in Fusion.
Have a look at the tutorial for a thorough review of all the new features.

As always, … a superb tutorial packed with lots of really important information. I’ve watched quite a few v19 reviews, but none mentioned all these really important and great features. Like …Fusion colour management …is the long struggle over ? that must have been a massive piece of work for Blackmagic to do, and has been an annoying workaround for so long. I can’t believe that I will be able to throw away my old presets.. just need it to cover ACES too for integration into VFX pipelines.
Many thanks
Bernd
Yeah, still waiting to see if any problems and gaps pop up but so far Resolve Color Management looks like it have finally been solved.
